Rural Early Childhood’s American Indian, Alaska Native Coordinator
Receives Fellowship

OCT. 30, 2006 | The coordinator of the American Indian and Alaska Native Early Learning Initiative of the National Center for Rural Early Childhood Learning Initiatives has received a two-year fellowship from the University of Colorado-Denver and the American Indian and Alaska Native Head Start Research Center.

Nicole L. Thompson, Ph.D. (Menominee/Mohican), an assistant professor at Mississippi State University, will participate in research at the University of Colorado-Denver Health Sciences Center.

The research program seeks to advance the developmental sciences among AI/AN children. Thompson’s fellowship will begin Nov. 1.
