Northeast Mississippi Child Care Resource and Referral Agency (NMCCR&R)

The Northeast Mississippi Child Care Resource and Referral Agency is a system currently being implemented in 24 counties in Northeast Mississippi. The NMCCR&R is the first of its kind in Mississippi. There are three sites located at East Mississippi Community College-Mayhew campus, Northeast Mississippi Community College, and Itawamba Community College-Tupelo campus. The project offers staff development for early childhood professionals, on-site technical assistance for teachers, a resource library for parents and providers and referrals for parents seeking childcare. The project is funded in part by the Appalachian Region Commission (ARC). Other partners include East Mississippi Community College, Northeast Mississippi Community College, Itawamba Community College, Mississippi State University Extension Service and Early Childhood Institute and Mississippi Public Broadcasting.
