Project Joy

Project Joy provides training and technical assistance to early childhood programs in the Hurricane Katrina region of Mississippi for implementing Powerplay ©, a community-based, psychosocial play group intervention. The intervention was designed to help teachers and caregivers strengthen the social and emotional well-being of young children.

The project has received financial support from the W. K. Kellogg Foundation and the Mississippi Department of Human Services, Office for Children and Youth.

Pamela Myrick-Mottley, M.Ed., directs Project Joy.
