Early Reading First

The Early Reading First grant is designed to improve school readiness for students in Pike County. The grant is held by the McComb school district; The Early Childhood Institute's role is to coordinate professional development and provide environmental / literacy reviews in 81 classrooms two times per year. These reviews are the basis of technical assistance plans which are given to local mentors for the 40 treatment classes. Summary data is given to the classes annually to assist them with program improvement.
