About the MSU Early Childhood Institute

The Early Childhood Institute is a program of the College of Education of Mississippi State University. Mississippi State University established the Early Childhood Institute in 1999 to provide training, technical assistance, and applied research for improved quality and accessibility of early care and education across Mississippi.

Faculty members in the Departments of Curriculum and Instruction, Political Science, and Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work, as well as the MSU Extension Service, participate in the work of the MSU Early Childhood Institute.

Cathy Grace, Ed.D., professor in the Department of Curriculum and Instruction, is the founding director of the MSU Early Childhood Institute.
